Pets and People: Companions in Therapy & Service finds itself the subject of rumors and allegations spread through the Internet. While I would wish our reputation would suffice to quash these rumors, some folks evidently require more than that.
BEVERLY GREENWOOD
Volunteered with this organization at one time but has not worked with us since
sometime in 2004. She is not affiliated with Pets and People: Companions in
Therapy & Service.
MARCI CHATFIELD
Deceived and defrauded both Bev Greenwood and Pets and
People, Chatfield has disappeared. Charges have been filed against
her in Jones County, MS by Pets and People; however, she remains
at large. Please report any contact with Marci Chatfield to main@petsandpeople.org
LBOH
No longer exists. This organization is also referred to by its full name, "Little Bit O' Heaven" and at one time did briefly call itself "Pets and People's Rainbow Connection". Regardless, it has shut down. Any
pages displayed on the web which are purported to be from LBOH must, in, fact, be pages located on someone else's
site (look at the URL). As such, the content of any such pages is under the control of that site's owner.
MOBILE SPCA
After a post appeared in a public Internet message board from the
head of the Mobile SPCA, Pets and People's founder, Dr. Patricia Gonser telephoned the poster (as invited in the message)
and clarified the information in the post. Everything in the post is inaccurate
hearsay, some of it third- and fourth-hand. While conversing with Ms Flott, Dr. Gonser
specifically asked if she had been reported for animal abuse. The answer is NO. Call the Humane Officer for the SPCA at (251) 633-3348 to confirm.
The aforementioned rumors have resulted in harassment of Dr. Gonser, myself, organization members and advertisers on the web site. I encourage anyone receiving unsolicited email referencing these rumors to contact the sender's email provider and report it as abuse of service.
Also as a result of these rumors, people are being contacted by telephone and "warned". I encourage anyone who receives such a call to report it to your local telephone company as a harassing call.
