Kathie & Dixie

Kathie Mutchler, from Wisconsin, asked for a dog to help with her Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and we agreed. Kathie especially wanted a Golden Retriever, so our Executive Director, Pat, got on the Internet and found one. Administrative Director Mary Johnson flew to Portland, Oregon to get Dixie and bring her back to Mississippi for training. Finally, Mary flew with Dixie to her new home near Madison, Wisconsin in October of 1998.

Carolyn & Violet

Violet was an exception to our usual policy of not accepting dogs for training until we had a client. She came to us as a pup, donated by a breeder. Miss Carolyn has a psychiatric disability; Violet has been trained to help mitigate that disability and they became a team in Summer, 2000.

Mary & Michael

Administrative Director Mary Johnson has problems with balance and even with walking as a result of viral encephalitis. Patty & John Martin donated Aridawn's Micael Jordan, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, to become Mary's service dog.
